Who We Are: Per Scholas’ mission is to open doors to technology careers for individuals from often overlooked communities. We envision a future where individuals from any community can access well-paying career positions, and where talent is recognized and recruited from many diverse sources.
What We Do: Per Scholas prepares motivated and curious adults who are unemployed or underemployed with the technical and business skills to launch successful careers in technology, creating on-ramps to businesses in need of their talents. We collaborate with
businesses to design industry- and job-specific courses based on employers’ IT needs; teach technology skills and professional development to highly motivated students from overlooked talent pools; and match talented graduates to employers, providing career support throughout the process.
Why We're Important: Per Scholas addresses at least three significant workforce development needs for low-to-moderate income individuals: the opportunity gap that keeps many high-potential individuals trapped in unemployment or low-quality jobs; diversity gaps in the technology workforce; and the technology skills gap that nearly two-thirds of U.S. technology leaders say is impeding their businesses.
How We Impact the Community: By giving people the technical and business skills to gain meaningful employment and provide for themselves and their families, Per Scholas is building the foundation for stronger, financially stable communities.
