Who We Are: Gigi’s is Improving the Lives of Shelter Dogs® through our three pillars: shelter dog transport, shelter dog health, and shelter partner investments. Our vision for all adoptable shelter dogs in the U.S. to find a happy home will be achieved by investing in those already working for dogs. Gigi’s is a network that bridges the urban-rural resource gap with public-private partnership approaches that solve supply and demand issues across the dog sheltering network. Simply put, we move dogs from communities with more dogs than adopters to communities with more adopters than dogs, and we provide 100% of their veterinary care.

What We Do:

  • Shelter dog transport. Gigi’s moves dogs from rural shelters, where they could spend months, to metropolitan shelters for adoption in an average of two weeks.

  • Shelter dog health. Gigi’s provides rural dogs and shelters with free veterinary care and vaccines.

  • Shelter partner investment. Gigi’s renovates rural shelter buildings so they can save more dogs and keep them healthy, all while inspiring a healthier and happier team of staff and volunteers. We also provide medical supplies, tools, and training to improve our rural partners’ ability to help more dogs

Why We're Important: The resources Gigi’s provides allow our shelter partners and adoption center partners to do what they do best – take in homeless dogs and manage their adoptions – and to focus their time and resources on Improving the Lives of Shelter Dogs®.

In addition to funding 100% of transportation, veterinary, behavioral support, housing, and shelter processing costs for all dogs in our program, Gigi’s also provides our shelter partners with vaccines, medical supplies, equipment, and coaching at no cost to them, ensuring all the dogs in their care are healthier, regardless if they ever step foot on Gigi’s campus.

How We Impact the Community: In the first 10 months of operation, Gigi’s has

  • rescued over 1,200 dogs,

  • performed over 300 surgeries,

  • provided free medical care to an additional 2,500 dogs, and

  • fully renovated the dog care facilities at two partner shelters.

Stay tuned…Gigi’s has BIG plans for how we’ll continue Improving the Lives of Shelter Dogs®.
